Summary

This study tested a treatment called deep brain stimulation (DBS) for people with severe depression that hasn't improved with other treatments. 46 adults received either active DBS or a sham (fake) procedure to see if it helps reduce symptoms. The goal was to measure changes in depression scores and check for side effects.
