Citizen scientists wanted: donate your fitness tracker data to fight heart disease

NCT ID NCT07238036

Summary

This study is testing a new 'data donation' model where people voluntarily share information from their fitness trackers, smartwatches, and health apps to help researchers understand and prevent heart disease. The goal is to build a more inclusive picture of heart health by including data from groups often left out of medical research, like women and people from different socioeconomic backgrounds. About 450 adults will connect their devices and answer lifestyle questions online for up to 5 years, with researchers measuring how well the system works and who participates.
