Fresh food fight: can grocery delivery beat high blood pressure in food deserts?

NCT ID NCT05121337

Summary

This study is testing whether providing home-delivered healthy groceries based on the DASH diet can help lower blood pressure in Black adults living in Boston-area neighborhoods with limited access to fresh food. 150 participants with untreated elevated blood pressure will either receive 12 weeks of free healthy groceries or a shopping stipend, followed by 9 months of observation. The goal is to see if improving food access can prevent high blood pressure in communities facing health disparities.
