Lung cancer trial matches drugs to tumor DNA
NCT ID NCT02314481
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested whether giving lung cancer treatments based on the genetic details of a person's tumor could help control the disease. It included 50 adults with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Some received immunotherapy (atezolizumab) alone or with chemotherapy, while others got targeted drugs like vemurafenib or alectinib depending on their tumor's specific gene changes. The goal was to see how long the cancer stayed under control and to learn more about why some tumors resist treatment.
