Early trial tests cancer drug for dangerous blood clot disorder

NCT ID NCT05671757

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether a medication called daratumumab, already used for some cancers, is safe for people with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), a disorder that causes dangerous blood clots. Up to 22 adults with APS will receive the drug through an IV to see what dose is safest and if it can lower the harmful antibodies that cause clotting. The main goal is to check for serious side effects, while also seeing if the treatment reduces the antibodies linked to the disease.
