Could a diabetes pill fix anemia in bone marrow disease?
NCT ID NCT07516847
First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests whether dapagliflozin, a drug used for diabetes, can help treat anemia in people with a low-risk form of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Anemia causes fatigue and often requires blood transfusions. About 37 adults will take the pill daily for 24 weeks to see if their hemoglobin levels rise and reduce the need for transfusions.
