First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study compares two types of blood thinners (DOAC vs VKA) in people who have had open-heart surgery and also have atrial fibrillation, a heart rhythm problem. The goal is to see which one causes less major bleeding in the first 30 days after surgery. About 3500 adults will take part, and the results will help doctors choose the safer option for preventing strokes and blood clots.
