Dancing to recovery: new study tests dance therapy for stroke survivors

Summary

This study tests if adding dance therapy to standard physical therapy helps people with chronic stroke (at least 6 months after) improve their balance and walking. Sixteen participants will be split into two groups: one gets standard therapy plus dance, the other only standard therapy. The dance group will attend one 30-minute session per week for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes in postural control and gait.
