Researchers look back at 150 kids with rare blood condition

NCT ID NCT06547931

Summary

This study looked back at medical records of 150 children with a specific genetic trait (Duffy-null) that causes low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils. The goal was to understand how common an immune system cause is for this condition, how severe the low counts are, and whether lower counts are linked to more infections. This research aims to build knowledge to help doctors better understand and manage this condition in the future.
