New smoking cessation pill shows promise in large trial

Summary
This study tested a pill called cytisinicline, made from a plant extract, to help adults stop smoking. 810 daily smokers who wanted to quit took either the pill or a placebo for 6 or 12 weeks. The main goal was to see if more people could stay smoke-free during treatment, verified by breath tests.
