New Quit-Smoking pill shows promise in major trial

Summary
This study tested whether a medication called cytisinicline could help adult smokers quit. Over 800 participants who smoked at least 10 cigarettes a day and wanted to quit were randomly assigned to receive either the real medication or a placebo (a dummy pill) for either 6 or 12 weeks. The main goal was to see if people taking cytisinicline could successfully stop smoking and stay smoke-free for weeks after treatment.
