This study tested a gel called Cystistat, which is put directly into the bladder to replace a protective layer that is damaged in people with interstitial cystitis (also called bladder pain syndrome). The goal was to see if it safely reduces pain and other symptoms. The study included 74 women aged 18 and older who had bladder pain for at least 6 months. Results were measured using patient reports and symptom scores.
