Summary
This study tested a new tablet called BI 1291583 in 22 adults with cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis (damaged airways). Participants took either the study drug or a placebo once daily for 12 weeks. The main goal was to check safety and side effects, not to cure the disease. Results will help decide if larger studies are needed.
