New shot tested to regrow hair in autoimmune condition

NCT ID NCT07029204

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new way to deliver a medication called cyclosporine directly into bald patches caused by alopecia areata, an autoimmune hair loss condition. The goal is to see if localized injections are safe and can help regrow hair while avoiding the side effects linked to taking the drug by mouth. About 12 participants will receive injections in two similar patches—one with the drug and one with a placebo—over 12 weeks to compare results.
