NCT ID NCT05718791
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 20, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study is testing whether two blood markers, CXCL9 and EASIX, can predict severe acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) in people who have had a stem cell transplant for blood cancer. Researchers will take a blood sample 28 days after transplant and check these markers. The goal is to find a way to predict GVHD early so doctors can intervene sooner. The study plans to enroll 100 adults.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
blood sample
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple blood test that helps doctors predict and prevent severe GVHD before it starts.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 100 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The markers might not be accurate enough for routine use.
