Scientists probe hidden link between immune deficiency and lung problems

NCT ID NCT06173128

Summary

This study aims to understand why people with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) develop frequent lung infections and chronic lung disease. Researchers collected samples from 75 participants (both CVID patients and healthy controls) to analyze the bacteria in their respiratory tracts and measure immune responses. The goal is to learn how antibody deficiency changes the lung environment, which could lead to better understanding of CVID complications.
