New mapping technique may improve ablation for irregular heartbeat

NCT ID NCT07320560

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a non-invasive body-surface map to guide catheter ablation can better treat atrial fibrillation (AF) compared to the standard approach. About 45 adults with persistent AF and an enlarged left atrium will receive a personalized ablation based on this mapping. Researchers will check if the procedure stops AF during the procedure and reduces recurrence over the following year.
