New culturally tailored therapy aims to help latino community reduce drinking and improve mental health
NCT ID NCT04771650
Summary
This study is testing whether a culturally adapted form of talk therapy can help Latino adults who are heavy drinkers. The therapy is designed to address immigration-related stress and is delivered by trained community health workers in a primary care clinic. Researchers will measure if it reduces heavy drinking days, drug use, and symptoms of depression and anxiety over 12 months, while also studying how well it can be implemented in real-world healthcare settings.
