Study aims to make national diet guidelines work better for african american communities

NCT ID NCT04981847

Summary

This study tested whether making three national healthy diet patterns more culturally relevant could help African American adults eat better and lower their risk for type 2 diabetes. Researchers worked with 63 participants who were overweight and had multiple diabetes risk factors. They first tested standard diet materials for 12 weeks, then used participant feedback to create a more tailored, year-long program.
