Computer alerts aim to catch hidden lung disease
NCT ID NCT03729544
Summary
This study tested whether a pop-up alert in a patient's electronic health record could help doctors spot a serious lung condition called CTEPH. CTEPH can develop after a blood clot in the lungs and is often missed. The trial involved 400 patients with prior clots and symptoms. Half of their doctors received the alert, and half did not, to see if it led to more testing and diagnoses.
