Summary
This study tested whether an on-screen alert in the electronic health record could remind doctors to screen for a rare but serious lung condition called chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) in patients who previously had a blood clot in the lungs. About 400 adults with symptoms like shortness of breath or fatigue were included. The goal was to see if the alert increased the number of echocardiograms ordered and CTEPH diagnoses made.
