Blood test may predict cancer return in patients with limited spread

NCT ID NCT07426250

First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study is for people whose cancer has spread to just a few places in the body (oligometastatic disease) and who are getting treatment to destroy those spots. Researchers want to see if a blood test that looks for tumor DNA (ctDNA) can help predict if the cancer will come back or spread further. About 500 adults will give blood samples before, during, and after treatment, and their health will be followed over time. The goal is to learn whether ctDNA can be a useful early warning sign, not to test a new treatment.
