Heart scan strategy aims to slash cardiac events in rural china
NCT ID NCT07416344
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tests whether using a special heart scan (coronary CTA) to guide intensive treatment can reduce major heart problems like heart attacks and strokes in people at high risk. About 15,000 adults aged 40-75 in rural China will be assigned to either the scan-guided care or standard care. The main goal is to see if the scan-based approach lowers the chance of death, heart attack, or stroke over 18 months, with a longer follow-up at 36 months.
