New CT technology aims to improve osteoporosis detection
NCT ID NCT06305156
Summary
This study tested whether a new type of CT scanner can measure bone mineral density as well as the current standard DXA scan. Researchers compared bone density readings from both scans in 167 adults who needed a CT scan for medical reasons. The goal is to see if CT scans, which are already common, could also accurately check for bone loss like osteoporosis.
