Are emergency rooms ordering too many risky CT scans?
NCT ID NCT06985914
Summary
This study aims to find out how many CT scans ordered in a hospital emergency room are truly necessary. Researchers will look back at 600 scans from 2024 to see if they followed official guidelines or actually changed how a patient was treated. The goal is to understand if scans are being overused, which can expose patients to unnecessary radiation, increase costs, and harm the environment.
