New scan technique could reduce radiation while keeping images clear
NCT ID NCT01800084
Summary
This study tested whether a newer CT scan reconstruction method (ASIR) could produce bone scan images of similar quality to the standard method (FBP) while using less radiation. Researchers compared image quality and radiation doses in 75 patients who were already scheduled for bone scans. The goal was to determine if the newer method could safely reduce radiation exposure without compromising diagnostic image quality.
