Freezing tumors could replace surgery for some breast cancers

NCT ID NCT07483996

Summary

This study is testing whether freezing a tumor (cryoablation) is as effective as traditional surgery (lumpectomy) for treating early-stage breast cancer. It will enroll about 940 women over 60 with small, low-risk tumors to compare cancer recurrence rates over 5 years. The goal is to see if this less invasive procedure can control the disease while potentially offering better cosmetic results and fewer complications.
