Could a natural fat boost healing in Crohn's disease?
NCT ID NCT07417696
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a nutritional supplement called palmitoleic acid to the standard Crohn's disease medication infliximab helps heal the intestinal lining better than the medication alone. About 400 adults with active Crohn's disease will be randomly assigned to receive either the combination or just the medication. The main goal is to see if patients achieve complete healing of intestinal ulcers after 26 weeks of treatment.
