Blood test breakthrough could personalize Crohn's treatment

NCT ID NCT03142321

Summary

This study aimed to help doctors predict which patients with Crohn's disease affecting the small intestine would respond well to the medication vedolizumab. Researchers followed 48 adult patients already starting this treatment, using MRI scans and blood tests to look for patterns. The goal was to identify biological markers in the blood that could signal whether the treatment would work, allowing for more personalized care decisions.
