New pill tested to fight Crohn's gut inflammation

Summary

This study tested whether adding a new oral drug, BI 706321, to a standard Crohn's treatment (ustekinumab) could better control gut inflammation. About 50 adults with moderate to severe Crohn's disease were randomly assigned to take either the new drug or a placebo pill alongside their ustekinumab injections for 12 weeks. Doctors used colonoscopies and other tests to see if the combination reduced inflammation more effectively.
