Summary

This study tested whether crofelemer, a drug that reduces fluid in the gut, could improve stool consistency in adults with functional diarrhea (frequent loose stools without a clear cause). The trial was terminated early after enrolling only 17 people. The main goal was to see if crofelemer led to firmer stools compared to a placebo after 4 weeks.
