Can a gym supplement protect your kidneys during a heat wave workout?
NCT ID NCT07472426
Summary
This study is looking to see if taking creatine supplements for one week changes markers of kidney injury, inflammation, and thinking ability in healthy, active young adults after they exercise in hot conditions. Researchers will compare people taking creatine to those taking a placebo (a look-alike with no active ingredient) during 90-minute cycling sessions in a heated room. The goal is to understand if creatine might help protect against heat-related stress on the body and brain.
