Creatine fails to show clear benefit for lingering concussion woes in small trial

NCT ID NCT06644131

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a daily creatine supplement could reduce persistent symptoms like headaches and fatigue in adults who had a concussion 6-18 months earlier. Thirty-four participants were randomly assigned to take creatine, a placebo powder, or receive usual care only for seven weeks. While the study was feasible to run, creatine did not show a statistically significant benefit over the placebo or usual care for reducing symptoms, though some small positive trends were noted.
