First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at 20 infants with severe bronchiolitis (a serious lung infection) to compare two types of breathing support: CPAP and NiPPV. The goal was to see which one reduces the effort of breathing more effectively. Researchers measured breathing effort using a special tube in the esophagus. The findings could help doctors choose the best treatment to avoid putting babies on a breathing tube.
