Breathing aid could shield hearts from radiation damage

Summary

This study is testing if using a CPAP breathing machine during radiation therapy can lower the amount of radiation that reaches the heart and lungs of breast cancer patients. The goal is to reduce the risk of long-term heart and lung problems that can be caused by radiation treatment. The trial will enroll about 53 women and will also check how easy it is to use the CPAP device during daily treatment.
