Summary
This study tested whether adding the drug ABX464 to standard COVID-19 care could reduce dangerous inflammation and prevent patients from developing severe breathing problems. It involved 509 adults aged 65+ or younger adults with risk factors like obesity or diabetes. The trial was stopped early because an initial analysis showed the treatment was unlikely to work better than a placebo.
