MRI scans reveal COVID's hidden toll on organs
NCT ID NCT04369807
Summary
This study aimed to understand how COVID-19 affects internal organs like the heart, liver, and lungs after recovery. Researchers used detailed MRI scans and blood tests on 693 adults who had been hospitalized with COVID-19, following them for up to 12 months. The goal was to measure how common and severe organ damage is, which helps healthcare systems plan for long-term patient needs.
