Scientists track COVID's hidden damage for years
NCT ID NCT04401449
Summary
This study aimed to understand why COVID-19 affects people so differently, from no symptoms to severe organ damage. Researchers followed 202 adults with COVID-19 for up to three years, using detailed scans and tests of the heart, lungs, brain, and kidneys. The goal was to link the body's immune response seen in blood and lung fluid with images of organ health over time.
