New breathing support tested to keep COVID patients off ventilators
NCT ID NCT07213518
Summary
This study compared two non-invasive methods to help COVID-19 pneumonia patients breathe: High-Velocity Nasal Insufflation (HVNI) and Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP). It involved 108 adults with severe COVID-19 and low blood oxygen. Researchers measured which method was better at improving oxygen levels, reducing the need for a ventilator, and improving 28-day survival.
