NCT ID NCT05745948

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study looked at whether people with cystic fibrosis (CF) have natural protection against COVID-19. Researchers tested blood samples from 75 children and adults with CF in Europe for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies over two years. They compared antibody levels after natural infection versus vaccination, and tracked how COVID-19 affected lung function and CF symptoms. The goal was to understand why fewer CF patients report COVID-19 cases and whether their immune response differs.
