Can couples counseling stop the spread of STIs in young adults?

NCT ID NCT03275168

Summary

This pilot study tested whether a counseling program for young couples could help prevent sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV. Researchers worked with 68 young heterosexual partners in Baltimore, providing them with individual and joint health education sessions. The goal was to see if helping couples communicate better about safe sex practices was a feasible and acceptable approach to reducing infection risk.
