Can talking help heal your liver? study tests counseling for fatty liver disease

NCT ID NCT06348628

Summary

This study tested whether motivational counseling could help people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) lose weight and improve their liver health. 231 adults with NAFLD were randomly assigned to receive either the counseling or standard care and followed for one year. Researchers measured changes in weight, liver enzyme levels, body measurements, and quality of life to see if the counseling approach was effective.
