Talking through recovery: could Post-Hysterectomy counseling ease stress and strengthen relationships?
NCT ID NCT07651449
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether structured education and weekly counseling sessions after a hysterectomy can help women feel less stressed, improve their quality of life, and strengthen their relationship with their partner. The trial involves 60 married women who have had a hysterectomy. Half receive the extra support, while the other half receive standard care. Researchers measure changes in stress, physical and mental well-being, and couple adjustment over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
postoperative counseling and education
What this could lead to
If effective, this approach could become a standard support program to help women and their partners adjust after hysterectomy.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center trial with 60 participants, so results may not apply widely. The intervention is behavioral, so benefits may vary.
