Wrist device listens for coughs to predict dangerous lung attacks

NCT ID NCT07212439

Summary

This study is testing if a wrist-worn device that automatically counts coughs can give an early warning for serious flare-ups in people with COPD. The goal is to see if a change in cough frequency can predict a flare-up before it becomes severe, potentially allowing for earlier treatment. Participants will wear the device and answer a short weekly survey, but their regular doctors will not see the cough data and will manage their care as usual.
