New breathing machine tested to help elderly clear congested lungs

NCT ID NCT06730217

Summary

This study aims to see if a mechanical breathing device is better than traditional manual physiotherapy at helping hospitalized elderly people clear mucus from their lungs. It will involve 120 participants aged 60 and over who are hospitalized with lung congestion and have a weak cough. Researchers will measure cough strength, breathing capacity, and patient comfort to compare the two methods.
