Could steroids help ICU patients swallow again after a breathing tube?

Summary
This study tests if a short course of steroids given through a vein can reduce swelling in the throat and improve swallowing in people who recently had a breathing tube. About 80 adults from several hospitals will take part. Half will get the steroid and half a placebo, and neither they nor their doctors will know which they received.
