Could steroids unlock a stuck esophagus?
NCT ID NCT06588348
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looks at whether corticosteroids can improve swallowing in people with EGJOO, a condition where the esophagus doesn't relax properly, causing food to get stuck and chest pain. Researchers think an allergy might be the cause. Twelve adults with confirmed EGJOO will take steroids to see if their esophageal muscle function gets better.
