First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looked at how the brain handles body awareness (proprioception) in baseball players with a condition called glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD), which causes shoulder tightness. Researchers measured brain activity and shoulder position sense in 98 active players and linked these to pitching speed and accuracy. The goal was to understand the brain's role in pitching performance for players with GIRD.
