Tiny mesh implant could ease stubborn heart pain when drugs fail

NCT ID NCT06898541

ENROLLING_BY_INVITATION Disease control Sponsor: UMC Utrecht Source: ClinicalTrials.gov ↗

Summary

This study is testing whether a small hourglass-shaped mesh implant placed in a heart vein can improve blood flow and reduce chest pain in people with coronary microvascular disease. Fifty patients with persistent chest pain despite medications will receive either the actual implant or a placebo procedure. Researchers will measure changes in heart blood flow and daily chest pain episodes over six months to see if the implant helps.
