First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at whether taking cornelian cherry powder for four weeks could improve heart and blood vessel function in healthy amateur long-distance runners over age 45. Eighteen runners took either the cherry supplement or a placebo, then switched after a break. Researchers measured blood pressure, blood vessel resistance, and oxygen sensitivity. The goal was to learn more about how this fruit might affect endurance and health.
